Matt’s El Rancho
Matt’s El Rancho is family owned and operated Tex Mex restaurant that seats more than 500 people. Matt’s offers the freshest corn tortilla chips you can find along with their famous margaritas and queso. This Austin staple has been serving made from scratch food since 1952.
Lick:
Serves up artisanal ice creams made from pure, wholesome ingredients. All of the milk and cream used to make their ice creams comes from a local, family-owned dairy in Central Texas. Cilantro Lime, Dewberry Corn Cobbler and Sweet Persimmon and Sage ice creams are just some of the flavors inspired by and created with seasonal offerings from Texas.
ABGB:
Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company is a South Austin favorite that is great venue to celebrate with large groups, pets and even children. AGBG has a large indoor space accompanied by an expansive outdoor area offering large picnics tables that invite locals to sip great beer, munch on freshly baked pizza (and others food) and enjoy a rotating list of live music performers.
East Side King:
Created by Top Chef Texas winner and Austinite Paul Qui, East Side King food trucks have multiplied and now offer a brick and mortar location. The restaurant serves a unique twist of Asian and Tex-Mex inspired cuisine. Many local favorites include the Poor Qui’s Buns, Beet Home Fries and the Brussels Sprout Salad.
Odd Duck:
The brothers Bryce and Dylan Gilmore purchased a Fleetwood Mallard trailer with a mission to turn it into an eatery serving only food with ingredients from local Austin farms. Only a few years later, Odd Duck, now a brick and mortar restaurant became one of the most critically acclaimed restaurants in Austin. Continuing the philosophy of supporting local farmers, making everything from scratch and working to capture the true craft of cooking in each bite, Odd Duck’s menu is inspired by the Texas seasons using local ingredients that showcase the loyal relationships between the chefs and the farmers built throughout the years.
Winebelly:
A neighborhood and tapas bar that serves Spanish-Mediterranean style food and an internationally-curated wine list set in a local & laid back South Austin atmosphere.
Named one of the "Top 20 Wine Bars in America" by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, this restaurant serves an ever changing seasonally inspired menu.
Gordough’s Public House:
Gorgough’s is known for serving delicious calorie packed donuts, donut sandwiches and donut burgers with flavorful and creative ingredients. Great for groups, this public house offers live music, delicious local brews on tap and memorable doughnut combinations including: the Ron Burgundy Burger Donut, the Squealing Pig Dessert Donut and the Country Clucker.
Bouldin Creek Cafe:
Serves up fairly priced, wholesome vegetarian (with vegan options) food, and have shown vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike that veggie fare can be both flavorful and satisfying. They also offer a wide array of tasty beverages ranging from local beers to 25 different types of hot brewed teas.
Uchi:
Uchi, translated from Japanese meaning “house”, is an award-winning restaurant located in a refurbished old home in South Austin. Uchi showcases the culinary talents of executive chef and sushi master Tyson Cole. Explore their gastronomic boundaries by pairing traditional Japanese offerings with new and refreshing flavors and textures. Uchi is continually named one of the best restaurants in the city, as well as the nation.
Broken Spoke:
The Broken Spoke, established in 1964, is one of the last true Texas dance halls in the Austin area. Country music legends like Willie Nelson, Bob Wills, Dolly Parton and George Strait have all graced the stage at this historic live music venue. Though it is now surrounded by signs of Austin’s ever growing urban population, the Broken Spoke still serves up it’s authentic twang with cold beer, live country music and Two Step Tuesday.
